Tuesday night was a big one for WeMix and the DTP crew. First Luda, Chingy, and Bobby Valentino rocked Dave Letterman and performed Chingy's hot new track "Gimme Dat". Luda sported his WeMix Hoodie, which was cool.
After the gig, the crew headed straight for Spotlight Cafe for a star-studded DTP Showcase event. The place was packed with stars and industry hitters, and WeMix was front and center.

I’ve been getting a bunch of emails from people having trouble uploading song and video files. Sorry for your frustration, here's what's up.
Most likely, you are not uploading a file that we accept. Your audio files must be no larger than 20 megabytes and in .aif, .m4a, .aac, .mp3, or .wav.
Many people are trying to load .cda files.
What is a .cda file? I’m glad you asked.
A CDA is a file format for music on CDs, but you can’t store those files on a computer. So, if you are trying to put music on WeMix from a CD, you need to rip the CD to your computer and save the files as .mp3 or something else that we accept. Then you can load them, and everyone can hear your tracks.
There are a few free programs that can help you out like iTunes and www.freerip.com.

In the meantime, here are some sweet cheats that make the site a whole lot easier to use. Remember, we’re still building it so there will be lots of cool new stuff soon.
SEARCH TOOL
Are you trying to find a certain artist or song? We have 18,000 of ‘em, and sometimes it’s not easy. These tips should make it much easier for you and your fam to find your songs:
1. The UNDERLINE SYMBOL is your friend. For example if you want to find songs by the artist Lil Gina, you’ll never get them if you enter it that way. But it you enter it with an underline as Lil_Gina, you’ll get right to her stuff. Then you can click on the one you want.
2. The underline also works great to help you find specific song titles. Example: if you wanna listen to the song Ain’t No Mo’ by MidnightisHere.com, then you need to go to the search box and type Ain’t_No_Mo’ in the search field – using those underlines, and the track will come up. Saves you a lot of time.
3. Be as specific as you can. Right now, when you are searching for something, only the top 10 results are listed on the page. So if you are looking for a song called “Smile” you will probably have trouble getting it cause so many songs and artists have that word in it. Try to use multiple words, or even better, use that UNDERLINE to link words together.
SONG LINKS
Lots of peeps are asking for help and links to promote their songs on myspace, facebook and other sites.
Guess what? You already have them! Every song at WeMix has an individual link that shows up right in the URL board at the top of the page. All you have to do is copy that link and you can put it into an email, or on your page, or anywhere you want and people can come right to your song.

You will go straight to Ginkin99’s song called Keasbey Nights.

We're getting a lot of emails and posts from WeMixers who want to know how to get plays and get into the homepage. (King JP - we feel ya)
Here are 4 ways to get it. Some of this is on us, and we're working on it:
1 You've got to get your friends and fam to come to the site, search for your song – or for your name – and play them. That’s easy.
2 Soon, we’re gonna expand the homepage so we can pump more songs up there, right at the top. That will give you a better chance to get spins and notice.
3 We’re also gonna give you the way to email and send links to your songs, again just another way to make it easier for folks to hear ya. Here's a trick: just click on the song you want to promote, copy the address in the web browser, and you can send that to anyone in the world by email.
4 We’re putting together more mixes, and listening to more music to make sure we don't miss anyone. As I said last night, you'll be hearing from Luda real soon.
MOST OF ALL - we need you all to hang in there. WeMix is not a one-time contest. We're gonna be around for a long time, making lots of records with lots of artists. So even if you're here, and you've only got 200 plays, it's not over.
Far from it.
A picture is worth a thousand words... we dug this photo of Luda and one happy fan at the NBA All-Star game in New Orleans. Of course, it helps when that fan is JET LI, the martial arts kickass superstar.

And you might be getting a real message with real feedback from Luda, so keep WeMixing cause we're gonna start making real records, really soon.

Happy Valentine's Day. WeMix has love for our artists - all 13,000 of you.
Couple of quick snaps:
First, we got swamped with new artists and songs. It's a beautiful thing. We also got a lot of emails and phone calls asking why it's taking so long to see your songs and avatars on your page. The answer is, it takes time for our computers to process all the stuff. For now you have to trust that WeMix is legit; your songs are in our system and will be there as soon as possible. And if they're not there, let us know and our team will do whatever it takes to help you get your music onto WeMix and out into the world.
Remember, we're just getting started, so keep checking in and then when your songs are up, you've got to get everyone you know to come to the site and give you plays.
Second, we've read some haters out there who think this blog and site aren't real. They're asking "Where's Luda? Where's the music?" Well, Luda's coming soon. Right here to this blog. And wherever Luda goes you know that great music is close by. You'll also start getting posts from Chaka Zulu, other members of DTP, and who knows who else?
We're working on the site 24-7. We've come a long way but we know we've got even longer to go. So stay with us and work on your songs - cause we're gonna crank it up very soon and it will definitely be worth the wait.

What up WeMixers?
It's been a great couple of days. Luda's been doing his thing at Grammys and on BET. Thanks to everyone for checking us out.
We got so many new artists and so many new songs ... we're off to a great start and we can't wait to start making records.
One thing: please be patient when you put a song onto the site. The system takes time to get everything onto your page - sometimes up to 90 minutes. But it's all there, it's working great and will be there in a bit. When we launch the site for real there will be all kinds of new features and things to do so stay with us and keep spreading love for WeMix.
Most of all, check out the great songs an artist videos at the site.

You’ve probably noticed some cool new stuff at WeMix. Here's what's good:
New Homepage
The homepage now has video profiles from some of our top WeMix artists, and also real advice on how to break in from the one-and-only Wyclef Jean. He's a friend to WeMix and his knowledge comes straight from the heart. Check out the videos now, just click any of the cool blue buttons underneath the video player.
And if you want to be featured at the site, just make your own video and put it up in your profile. We’ll check it out and do the rest.
The homepage also features all kinds of new song categories: in addition to your Top Three there are Luda’s picks, hot new artists, fresh cuts, and even low riders – songs that need spins and love.
Avatar Tool
we now have a tool for you to upload your own avatar. If you’re already a member, just log in, go to your profile, click EDIT, and you can upload your photo or choose one of our avatars. It’s another way to put your own face onto your music.
More Stuff
Soon we’ll be adding lots of other features as we build toward the official launch of WeMix. We’ll also be making our first WeMix record really soon. So keep checking out the site, spreading love, and telling all your friends and fam to sign up and vote.

1500 songs.
That’s what we have at WeMix. And it’s growing every
day.
Now, 1500 songs might not seem like a lot to you. But it means
everything to us.
Without your music – songs, beats, poetry, riffs –
WeMix doesn’t happen.
So what is WeMix? It's a lot of things: website,
record label, there's even a TV show in the works.
We’ve already told you
that WeMix is a place where talented newcomers like you can hook up with each
other, and with superstars like me, to make great music together. It's that
simple.
We’ve gotten a lot of great feedback about the site, here’s
what’s coming soon:
* Soon we’re rolling out a new homepage with
video profiles of our artists and a lot more songs – including my personal
favorites
* After that, we’re launching the official WeMix site. It
will have all kinds of new features, like a mashup playground where you can
create music right here at WeMix, plus new tools to let you hook up
directly with other WeMix artists.
* Most
importantly, we’re planning to start making records with you just as soon as we
possibly can. Right now we’re getting everything ready –
our site, our studio, our TV show. We’re
bringing in top artists and producers to help make the records. It takes time,
but we want to have it all in place and then the sky’s the
limit.
Remember, this movement is only beginning. You need to keep
spreading love for WeMix, telling your friends and fam to sign up and give you
spins and votes at the site. And if there’s anything you want us to change,
build, or create, you’ve got to let us know right here at the site. WeMix
belongs to you and we will do everything we can to give you a real say in what
we do.
