ALAMO QUOTE

Greetings Wemixers .. Today's quote is: TAKE SUCCESS IN STRIDE.. People sometimes forget where they come from.  They were average Joe's before they got a deal & now that they've inked a deal, have become larger than life!! That's a crock of bullshit!! Who or what gave you the right to become a somebody because you inked a deal & got a little advance? I'm here to tell you that you are not a star until you've moved some units & the general public has stamped you as such.. This is how you create problems in your home town & in your hood.. When my wemixers finally ink a deal, DON'T CHANGE!!  Thats how you create a loyal grass roots fan base.. PLEASE TAKE SUCCESS IN STRIDE!!

PEACE & BLESSINGS

Go Get It!

ALAMO QUOTE

What up wemix family ? I know it's been a minute since my last quote but I'm back !!  Today's quote is: HOW DO HANDLE REJECTION ? You may not always like or agree with one's opinion of you or your skills.. That's totally human.. We can't let others take you off your chosen path. I had an MC play his material for me in which I thought it was sub par.. I'm not the sugar coat type so I kept it 100 &  mildly told him I wasn't feeling it & gave him tips of improvement.. He got a lil upset  &  I felt like if  you  wanted an ass kissing answer you came to the wrong person.. He shouldh've taken the advice I gave him & taken the negative response as fuel to burn to make his project better..  To all my wemixers  if you can't take  the  opinions of others, either get out the game or hold when your head when someone doesn't like your project.. That's the best way to  HANDLE REJECTION..

WeMix 2.0

WeMix 2.0 is Live!

Last night, we rolled out a big new site update. As promised, WeMix looks and feels a lot like it always did.  But there are a whole lot of cool new things - and more to come.  Here's what's good:

Getting Started
All of your songs, plays, voice mail messages, avatars, and artist information is still right there.  The only thing that changed is your password.  When you go to the site, click SIGN IN at the very top of the page.  The system will ask you for the email address you used when you signed up.  It should be the same one you’re using right now.

We sent you an email with your temporary password. Just sign in and then you can click EDIT to change your password and add more information to your profile.

If you are having any problems making it work, CLICK HERE and we’ll help you get rolling.

New Site Features
We have rolled out a long list of cool new things to do at the site, and ways to help you promote your music and get plays.

1  Better Search
You can enter any word or words you want - song title, artist name, genre, even tags - and our search engine will grab you a dedicated list of all the hits.  You can even sort your search results by date added, most popular, and most votes.  Best of all, you can page through your search results without losing your place in line.

2  More Artist Info
You now have your own WeMix URL – just like myspace.  When you go to your page or an artist's page, you now see much more info - who they are, where they live, what they do, artists they dig.  All of this stuff is tagged and searchable - meaning it's much easier to meet and collaborate with other artists.  We also display statistics about how mang other songs you have listened to.

3  More Song Info
When you click on a song, you now see all kinds of new info.  Comments, feedback, new ways to share songs, grab the URL, embed them onto other pages and sites, even send updates and invites to other people to check them out.  It's all there to help you promote your music and find other other artists to work with.

Important! You should enter as many song tags and descriptions as you can - makes it easier for people to find you and search you out.

4  Easier Voting
You don't need to sign up or wait 24 hours to vote anymore.  You can vote every time you play.  We thought about it and we decided to just open things up and put the power of WeMix into your hands.  Rules are the same, only now you can vote all the time.

5  Browsing
We’ve added easy, sortable columns to sort all the songs in our jukebox.  You can sort by most plays, song title (alphabetical), date uploaded, and most votes.  Just click the link and it automatically resets for you.

That’s what’s good.  We listened to your feedback and added as many things as we could.  And we’re not even close to finished – there will be many more cool new features in the next few weeks - like mixing, mashing, collabing right at the site - so stick around.

Thanks for being here, have fun and keep bangin’, cause we are about to take WeMix to a whole new level.

Peace!

Is WeMix For Real?

Yo it's matt.  responding to another blog comment from Paula.  She was talking about ways to make WeMix work.  Talking to people who think there's just no way to make it happen at this site.  Here's what she said:

"People just don't understand how this Site could possibly work for them, don't wait for people to vote & play your song, do it yourself all day everyday, every chance you get, tell your cousins, Mama,Daddy, friends, tell everyone even strangers, your neighbors, co-workers, send out messages to all your myspace friend's and want to be friends. Make flyers, poster's, leave them everywhere in stores, car windshields. Broadcast & Advertize Wemix.comeverywhere, anytime, everyplace, all day everyday. Tell people to Register & vote!!!!"

Paula got it right on the nose. WeMix CAN work for you and she knows how to do it.  The whole point is to go out and get your friends and fam to give you love - and PLAYS - at the site.  And in just a few days we're gonna roll out a new site with tons of tools to help you promote yourself all over the site and the web.

Luda, DTP, and I are totally committed to this. We have been blown away by how much great talent is out there, and we are going to make records with you really soon.  In fact, we are already hearing from WeMixers who are making music with each other and with other big name talents outside the site.

Yes, it takes time to build up spins.  But we are just getting started.  This isn't a one-shot deal that ends next month or even next year.  The bigger we get, the more records we make, and the more artists get to live their dreams.

So don't give up.  Don't feel like "there are 40,000 other songs here, no one is ever gonna fu*k with mine."  You've got the power to make it happen, but like Luda says in our promo, the question is how bad do you want it???

Jay-Z's deal - hot or not?

So Jay-Z got himself a huge deal from Live Nation. As MC Hammer would say:  "Proper!"

Lots of people are asking what it means.  Who really knows?  Anyone who says they know is full of sh*t.

On the one hand, it's great to see artists taking control of their careers and getting paid in as many ways as possible.  That's what WeMix is all about, and we applaud any artist who can make it happen.

On the other hand, we're talking about Jay-Z here.  He's one of the biggest stars in the game; of course he's gonna get a huge deal. It might work for megastars but what about up-and-comers?  New talents like you who are just getting started?

Much as I love Jay-Z, his deal doesn't really solve the fundamental problem:  how do we create a model that helps young talent get into the game, make the music they want, and build their own careers?

Every artist, even Jay, started on the streets or in the basement. We've got to build a better road to help you get to the penthouse.

What do you think?

30,000 Songs

30,000 songs.  In 3 months.

That's a lot of songs.

We started WeMix because we thought there was a lot of untapped talent in the world, even with myspace and youtube and all the other social networks on the web.  We had a feeling that artists in small towns and big cities still needed a way to get their joints out there, and a place where they could do something cool with their music, together.

We just didn't think it would get this big, this fast.

Well, maybe Luda did.

Anyway, we're fired up to have you here.  Now comes the fun part.  WeMix is about to get a whole lot cooler in three big ways.

First, in just a few days, we're gonna release a new version of the site.  It will look a lot like WeMix does right now, but it will have a bunch of new tools and ways to communicate and collaborate like never before.

Second, we're also planning to start giving some cool sh*t away.  We'll start running contests, battles, and competitions where you can win money, prizes, and glory just for doing your thing - and have a lot of fun while you do it.

Third, and most important, we're gonna start making records with you.  That's the reason we're all here.

So keep hitting the site and playing around with our HotLine and Voicemail.  Keep uploading your songs and spreading love for the site.

Most of all, thanks for being here.
