People often take music & tie it into other things such as terrorism, atheist, non patriotic among others. I tend to disagree. Open Mic Throwdown I - Winner!

Big ups to Phokuz, a hot WeMix artist repping all the way from Cleveland to LA.

Phokuz is the winner of the very first - but not the last - MyVox Open Mic Throwdown.

How did he do it?

First, he uploaded 45 seconds of strong rhymes to his WeMix Voice Mail.  Then he unleashed his friends and fam to vote and promote at WeMix.  He ended up with almost 200,000 votes at the site and many phone votes on the WeMix Hot Line.

And now he's getting paid for it - $500 in cash plus some custom WeMix gear.

Phokuz wasn't the only one to come correct.  QPee was a close second in the voting and almost took the battle.

Who's gonna be next?  It could be you, so stay up on the site and watch for more contests.

Step 1:  Sign Up
